Queen Elizabeth National Park - Safaris in Uganda
Queen Elizabeth National Park is a wildlife safari park located in Southwestern Uganda. This park is famous for its big cats and large herds of elephants. Visitors will find it very interesting on self-drive safaris in its open plains in Kasenyi where most game drives take place. Lions, leopards and Hippos can be spotted especially in the early hours.
The Kazinga channel connecting Lake Edward and George is a lifeline of this natural park. Water birds and reptiles can be spotted on the afternoon launch cruise which can done at the Mweya peninsular or the Kazinga bridge in Katunguru.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is located north of Bwindi National park in Uganda. Self-drive safaris from Rwanda which combine also Uganda end up in this wildlife destination. The park is rich with wildlife and the famous ones here are the tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. The section is located in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National park and it draws hundreds of visitors each year for tours.
