Murchison Falls National Park

Overview

Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest national park, covers 3,840 square kilometres in the northwestern region and is home to one of Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders—the roaring Murchison Falls where the Victoria Nile plunges 43 meters into a narrow chasm. For self-drive safari adventurers, Murchison Falls offers classic African savanna wildlife viewing with exceptional opportunities to see lions, elephants, giraffes, and hippos.

Located approximately 4-5 hours north of Kampala, the park is accessible via well-maintained roads. A self-drive safari to Murchison Falls typically includes northern and southern sections bisected by the Victoria Nile River, offering diverse game viewing opportunities throughout the day.
